Yak Casino Galerías Coapa

What and where it is. A Yak-brand gaming hall, operated by the Codere group, inside the Galerías Coapa shopping centre on Calzada del Hueso, in Tlalpan. Like the chain's other halls in the city, it combines slot machines, bingo and sports betting in an enclosed unit within the mall.

Entry rules. Admission is adults only and photo ID is normally requested at the door. There is a dress code and, as in all gaming halls here, photography inside is not permitted. Opening hours are long and run into the small hours.

What is around it. The mall that houses it —Galerías Coapa— opened in 1992 with around 130 units; it closed for more than a year after the 2017 earthquakes and reopened repaired. The Alameda del Sur park is a few minutes away on foot.

Getting there. There is no metro nearby: the Textitlán stop on the Tren Ligero is about a thirty-minute walk, so driving or a taxi along Canal de Miramontes is the practical option. If you are playing late, a ride app is the sensible way back.
