Hostal de Los Quesos

Almost fifty years, open 365 days. Hostal de los Quesos is one of those Del Valle neighbourhood institutions that answers any hour of the day: breakfast from 08:30, lunch, dinner and late night until one in the morning — until two on Fridays and Saturdays — every day of the year, without exception.

What to order. The house is built on cheese and antojitos: queso fundido in its variants, tacos, tortas, soups and desserts. This is Mexican family-hall cooking, generous and unpretentious, designed for a long shared table.

It stands at the corner of Avenida Coyoacán and Pilares, in Del Valle; Metro Zapata and Coyoacán on line 3 are nearby, and there is parking in the area. Call ahead for groups: Saturday night fills up.
