Sanborns Buenavista Forum

The chain. Sanborns is a café, restaurant, pharmacy and shop in one — long hours, a broad Mexican and international menu, cards accepted. For a visitor it covers early breakfast, a predictable meal and a clean bathroom with wi-fi.

This branch. In the Forum Buenavista shopping centre, beside Buenavista station — the terminus of the Tren Suburbano running north into the State of Mexico and, since 2023, the connection towards Felipe Ángeles airport. That makes this an arrival-and-departure branch rather than a destination.

What is two minutes away. The Biblioteca Vasconcelos: Alberto Kalach's "megalibrary", with suspended steel stacks and Gabriel Orozco's whale skeleton hanging in the void, plus a botanical garden behind it. Free entry, closed Mondays, and one of the most striking interiors in the city — and almost nobody eating here knows it is there.
