Sanborns Villa de Cortés

The chain. Sanborns is a café, restaurant, pharmacy and shop in one, with long opening hours, a broad Mexican and international menu and cards accepted at every branch. For a visitor it solves early breakfast, a predictable meal and a clean bathroom with wi-fi.

This branch. On Calzada de Tlalpan, in colonia Moderna — one of the main north-south arteries of the city, running from the historic centre down to Taxqueña.

Why that road matters. Metro line 2 runs the length of it, down to Taxqueña, where the southern coach terminal and the Tren Ligero to Xochimilco both are. If you are heading to the canals or taking a bus south to Cuernavaca or Acapulco, this is on the route.

Practical notes. Calz. de Tlalpan #744. Metro Villa de Cortés and Nativitas, line 2, are a short walk. Tlalpan carries traffic at all hours, which is worth knowing if you are asking for a table away from the avenue.
