Vips Revolución

The chain. Vips is Mexico's most widespread coffee-shop restaurant chain: a broad Mexican and international menu, breakfast all day, free coffee refills and mid-range prices. For a visitor it solves early breakfast, a predictable meal and a clean bathroom with wi-fi. All branches take cards.

This branch. On Avenida Revolución, in San Pedro de los Pinos — a quiet residential neighbourhood in Benito Juárez, on the axis that runs south towards Mixcoac and San Ángel.

What is here that nobody expects. San Pedro de los Pinos has a small archaeological site — Mixcoac — with a pre-Hispanic ceremonial platform in the middle of the neighbourhood, open to the public and almost never visited. The historic centre of Mixcoac, with its sixteenth-century parish and cobbled streets, is a short walk from it.

Practical notes. Av. Revolución #682. Metro San Pedro de los Pinos, lines 7 and 9, and Mixcoac, lines 7 and 12, are both close. Parking in the area is street parking.
