Manuel Orozco y Berra Map Library

The Map Library is related to Departamento Cartográfico del Ministerio de Fomento which was created in order to gather information and maps that allow queries and support economical planning, exploitation of natural resources and earth control. With time, other investigators donated their collections, among them the one from historian Manuel Orozco Berra stands out, besides Mapoteca was named after him in dicember, 1977.

Nowadays, it posseses a valuable tecnhical archive, composed of more than 5,000 files and field notebooks, whose dates go from 1860 to 1970; as well as archives related to topography, astronomy, geodesy, gravimetry, among other fields of knowledge.
