Antonio Caso #83, Col. San Rafael. 06470
What it is. An Argentine restaurant on Antonio Caso, in San Rafael, recently refurbished and decorated with quotations from Borges, Girondo and Warhol on the walls. The kitchen is built on meat, with Argentine empanadas, pasta and other options alongside.
How to order a steak in Mexico. The Argentine grill brought its vocabulary with it: bife de chorizo, vacío, entraña, molleja. If you are asked how you want it cooked, the local terms are término medio, tres cuartos and bien cocido; asking for it jugoso is the closest thing to rare. Chimichurri comes to the table and is not charged for.
When to go. Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 23:00 — it serves breakfast, which is unusual for a grill — and Sundays only from 08:00 to 18:00.
Where it is. San Rafael is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city, full of Porfirian mansions, next door to Santa María la Ribera and its Moorish Kiosk. Metro San Cosme and Revolución, line 2, are a few minutes away.
