La Fragua #4, Col. Tabacalera. 06030, Alameda
What it is. An Argentine grill on calle La Fragua, in the Tabacalera, a few steps from the Plaza de la República and the Monumento a la Revolución. Grilled cuts with tango in the background.
Why the location helps. The Monumento a la Revolución has a viewing deck and a panoramic lift, and the square is one of the pleasantest public spaces in the centre of the city, with its fountains. Eating here fits well before or after going up to the deck.
What to order. Cuts to share, with complimentary chimichurri, and empanadas to start. If you are asked how you want it cooked, jugoso is the closest thing to the Argentine point.
When to go. Monday to Saturday from 12:30 to 23:00; the Sunday hours published on the listing are inconsistent, so confirm by phone if you plan to come on a Sunday. Metro Revolución, line 2, is a few steps away.
