Taller multidisciplinario de artes escénicas

This workshop season has ended. The multidisciplinary performing-arts workshop was held at Fernández Leal #43, in La Concepción, Coyoacán. Confirm the current programme with the venue before travelling for a class.

What these workshops are. Mexico City's cultural centres and casas de cultura run term-length courses in theatre, dance, movement and voice at symbolic prices, open to residents and visitors alike. They are the backbone of the city's cultural provision and the reason its independent scene is as large as it is — but they are announced locally, with short notice, and fill quickly.

Where you are. La Concepción is the oldest barrio of Coyoacán, a few streets from the Jardín Centenario, built around the sixteenth-century Capilla de la Concepción and one of the quietest corners of a neighbourhood that is otherwise very busy at weekends.

Practical notes. Classes are in Spanish. Coyoacán has no Metro of its own: Viveros-Derechos Humanos and Coyoacán, line 3, are about twenty minutes on foot. Ask about enrolment dates rather than turning up: most courses start with the semester.
