This exhibition has closed. Ingeniería & Arquitectura. 70 años a través del arte was shown at the Museo Dolores Olmedo, in La Noria, Xochimilco, and is no longer on display.
An important practical note. The Museo Dolores Olmedo closed its historic home, the Hacienda La Noria, and has been operating from other venues while its future is settled. Before travelling to this address, confirm where the collection is currently being shown.
What the collection is. One of the most important private collections in Mexico, assembled by Dolores Olmedo: around 140 works by Diego Rivera, 25 by Frida Kahlo — the largest single holding of her painting anywhere — and work by Angelina Beloff, alongside pre-Hispanic pieces and Mexican folk art. The hacienda gardens were also home to a group of xoloitzcuintles, the hairless Mexican dog.
Getting there, when it reopens. Av. México #5843, La Noria, Xochimilco. The Tren Ligero stops at La Noria station, a short walk away.
