This run has ended. S.O.S. (Ser-o-Stress) was a stand-up show at Foro Shakespeare, Zamora #7 in the Condesa. The season is over, though the venue continues to programme comedy.
The subject. The title puns on "to be or stress", and the material was about exactly what you would expect in this city: traffic, deadlines, commutes, the small daily attrition of living in a metropolis of twenty million. It is one of the most reliable seams in Mexican stand-up because everyone in the room has lived it that same morning.
What to expect. Performances are in Spanish, fast, and dense with local reference. Audience interaction is part of the format, so the front row is a choice.
Finding a show now. Foro Shakespeare and small venues across the Condesa, the Roma and the centre run stand-up several nights a week and publish line-ups a week or two ahead. Expect a cover charge plus a minimum spend; shows start around 20:00 or 21:00.
